Definition: Intranet
An intranet is a private computer network that uses Internet protocols and network connectivity to securely share part of an organization's information or operations with its employees.

Many of our clients have a requirement to be able to share confidential information amongst staff members, quickly and easily, which is not available to non-staff members. An intranet can do just that!
Password Protected
Functioning in the same way as a website, an Intranet is password protected, so only permitted people can view the content. In this way, confidential documents and data can be shared and accessed within an organisation.
Access Levels
Multiple levels of access are also available, so that Board Members may have access to information that regular Staff members do not, for example. This can also be achieved on a departmental basis, where sub-sections of the Intranet are closed off to members outside a particular department, or workgroup etc.
Maintenance
Intranets are maintained in the same way as a regular website. Regular content can be edited with a CMS, or by ilikecake with a Maintenance Contract. Database content can be edited by a named administrator directly via administrator-restricted webpages.
